- PSEUDO FAT ASS: Runners MUST be aware that this Event is a pseudo fat ass, because there is a minimal registration fee, has awards, has aid (by teammates only), has limited volunteers, and no onsite paramedics. A Fat Ass is characterized by the phrase “No Fees, No Awards, No Aid, No Wimps.”

- COURSE VOLUNTEERS: They are regarded as Race Officials and their instructions MUST be followed and respected.

- I.C.E. INFORMATION: All runners MUST write important emergency contact and medical information on the back of the race bibs. Race organizers encourage Team Captains to have a list of the runners’ and volunteer’s I.C.E. information in the van that is easily accessible.
- CELLPHONE RULE FOR RUNNERS: Race Officials encourage runners to carry their cellphone during their run just in case their runner gets lost or need any form of assistance. REMEMBER, there are NO aid stations along the way and volunteers are limited. Dial 911 if you need any medical or security assistance. Otherwise, call one of the Race Organizers if you get lost or in need of non-emergency assistance.
- CELLPHONE RULE - DRIVERS: Except in an emergency, all drivers MUST obey Oregon’s cellphone law. Avoid distractions. NO TEXTING! Use hands-free devices.
- RACE WRIST WRAP & BIB NUMBER: Runners must wear the race wrist wrap and bib number while running.
- TEAM’S COMPLETED SCORING SHEET: The completed scoring sheet MUST be turned in at the Finish Line. Scoring Sheet will be given upon check-in at the Start Line.
- LEARN THE RACE COURSE: Each runner MUST learn her assigned leg. Race Organizers are not liable for any runner who gets lost.
- DRIVE THE COURSE BEFORE THE RACE: Race Organizers encourage teams to drive the course before the race to note where all turns are located, identify exchanges, where to park, where stops can be made to provide runner support, know where facilities for food and restrooms, etc.
- RUNNING AND DRIVING DIRECTIONS MANUAL: The Running and Driving Directions Manual will be emailed to the team captains.
- TEAM VAN: Team van may be decorated. Race Organizers encourage all participants to keep the decorations and theme Rated PG.
- EXCHANGE POINTS: Look for the Exchange Point number. Runner MUST check-in with Race Officials at each Exchange Point.
- AID or HYDRATION STATION: There is NO aid or hydration station along the course. Runners MUST be prepared to bring their own hydration device, water, energy drink, or any form of energy supplement during their run.
- GIVING AID AND SUPPORT ALONG THE COURSE: Runners MUST remember that there is NO aid or hydration station along the course. Teammates may give support to their teammate who is running. In doing so, teammates giving support MUST obey traffic law and safety when parking the Team Van and crossing streets.
- RESTROOMS OR PORTA-POTTIES: There will be NO porta-potties at Exchange Points. There are public restrooms at the Start Line, Exchange 2, Exchange 4, Esplanade (just past Hawthorne Bridge – on the right), SW River Drive – Public Restroom, (f) Willamette Park, (g) Oaks Park, and (h) Sellwood Park. NOTE: Public restrooms are NOT guaranteed open or clean.
- OBEY ALL TRAFFIC LAWS: (1) ALL state traffic laws MUST be obeyed at all times while driving or parking your Team Van. (2) Team Van must be safely parked when stopping to assist teammates. (3) Team Van shall not block any private driveways and or roadways at any time. (4) Open containers of alcoholic beverages are prohibited in the Team Van at all times during the Event.
- OBEY ALL LITTERING LAWS: All runners and volunteers MUST obey all littering laws. Each Team Van MUST have a garbage bag in the van to dispose their team’s garbage. There will be NO garbage or recycle bins at Exchange Points. Race Organizers encourage all team to recycle.
- HEADPHONES or AUDIO DEVICES: Race Organizers discourages the use of headphones or audio device. Participants may use headphones or audio device at their own risk.
- NO OPEN CONTAINERS OR ALCOHOL ON COURSE: Inebriated runners or volunteers on the course are NOT tolerated. Teams seen or reported doing so will be disqualified and could be fined or cited by law enforcement.
